Its 5,500 respondents were spread across five countries – from Australia, France, Germany, United Kingdom, and the US based consumers aged 18 years old and over.

Consumers are spending an average of six hours per week watching video content on social media networks alone.

It was revealed that customers are spending an average of six hours per week watching video content on social media networks alone. 67% said that their watch time has increased in the last twelve months. 60% are expecting it to continue rising over the next year across the branded social video on platforms such as YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Snapchat.

Over one-third or 36% preferred Facebook while the remaining 14% split over networks such as Twitter, Snapchat, and Instagram. Of the same chart is closely applicable across all five countries surveyed.

Regarding country comparisons, Australia showed the highest growth in social video views over the last 12 months with 73% of consumers admitting a relevant increase in their watch time.
